From a single English speaking school in 1971 to a globally trusted language institution — BSL’s story is one of continuous evolution and international reach.

1971
The British School of Language opens its doors. The founding curriculum — English Speaking across four skills plus a 12-week Personality Development programme — remains core to BSL today.
1985
BSL expands to offer foreign language certification in 12 languages, following the international CEFR standard from A1 to C2. French, German, and Spanish lead the expansion.
2003
Corporate Training for MNCs, BPOs, and institutions launched. BSL rapidly becomes the training partner of choice for organisations requiring high-quality language programmes.
2005
IELTS, PTE, and OET preparation added. BSL's Study Abroad division — including Canada PR and Australian immigration consulting — begins operations.
2009
ESL, TESOL, TEFL certifications for language educators introduced. BSL becomes one of the first institutes to issue QR-verifiable digital completion certificates.
2011
BSL launches online learning — transitioning to a blended delivery model ahead of the industry, ensuring continuity for students across time zones and geographies.
2016–17
